Is Zeaxan Safe? Side Effects, Headaches, Stomach Upset and Who Should Skip It

Quick answer

Zeaxan has no safety study of its own, so the safest guide is its 11 ingredients. Most reported side effects are mild, such as stomach upset or headache. Pregnant or nursing women, anyone under 18 and anyone with a known medical condition should ask a physician first. Medicines matter most.

The side panel carries the caution text, the adult-use line and the storage note.

Is Zeaxan safe to take?

For most healthy adults, the ingredients in Zeaxan are common ones, and the side effects reported for them are mostly mild. But safe is a big word. No safety study of the finished capsule has been published, and the label does not print the amount of each ingredient.

That means two things. First, nobody can give you a full safety record for this exact mix. Second, the cautions that matter come from single ingredients: ginkgo, cinnamon, green tea extract, vitamin B6 and a few others. The rest of this post goes through them.

The label itself is cautious. It says not to exceed the recommended dose, and it names three groups who should talk to a physician first. We follow that line and add the medicine notes from NCCIH and NIH.

Key facts

  • No side-effect data for the finished capsule is published.
  • The label says: do not exceed the recommended dose, and adult use only.
  • The label asks pregnant or nursing mothers, anyone under 18 and anyone with a known condition to see a physician first.
  • Ginkgo may add to blood thinners. Cinnamon may add to diabetes medicines. Green tea extract can lower some drug levels.
  • NCCIH (2025) links green tea extract capsules to rare cases of liver injury.
  • A sudden eye symptom is for an eye doctor, not a supplement.

What side effects can the Zeaxan ingredients cause?

The table lists what the sources say for each ingredient. Read the middle column as a ceiling taken from label order, not as a true amount.

Known side effects by ingredient
IngredientMost per serving (ceiling)What is known
Himalayan Pink Salt600 mgAdds sodium. Not studied as an eye nutrient.
Cinnamon Extract300 mgNo clear research support for any condition. May add to diabetes medicines.
AGP Choline200 mgVery high intakes can cause fishy body odor, sweating and stomach upset. Adult upper limit 3,500 mg a day.
Bacopa Monnieri (20%)150 mgMay cause stomach upset.
Bilberry Leaf Powder100 mgNCCIH warns that leaf may be unsafe at high doses or with long use.
Vitamin B686 mgHigh doses over a long time can harm nerves. Adult upper limit: 100 mg a day. No amount printed.
Ginkgo Biloba Powder75 mgLinked to headache, stomach upset and skin reactions. May add to blood thinners.
Green Tea Extract (50%)55 mgExtract capsules tied to rare liver injury. Can reduce levels of nadolol and atorvastatin.

Lutein, zeaxanthin and vitamin B12 are not flagged for a specific side effect in the sources we use. NIH sets no upper limit for B12 (NIH ODS). That is not the same as saying they cannot cause problems for someone.

Can Zeaxan cause headaches, stomach upset or sleep problems?

Headache and stomach upset are the two mild effects the sources tie to ingredients in the blend. Ginkgo is linked to headache, stomach upset and skin reactions (NCCIH, 2025). Bacopa is also linked to stomach upset. The label timing is between meals, and if your stomach objects you can ask your doctor about it.

Sleep, anxiety, dizziness, constipation and blood pressure are common questions in searches. For Zeaxan, none of these is addressed in the sources we use, so we cannot say yes or no. Green tea extract may contain caffeine, though how much depends on how it was processed, and the label is silent.

If a symptom starts after you begin, stop the capsules, write down the day it began and everything else you took that week, and call your doctor. After a missed day, skip it rather than doubling.

Who should not take Zeaxan without a doctor's go-ahead?

The label singles out three groups for a physician's advice before use: pregnant or nursing mothers, children under the age of 18 and people with a known medical condition. It also says Adult Use Only.

Ask a doctor first if

  • You are pregnant or nursing.
  • You are under 18. The label says adult use only.
  • You take a blood thinner or have surgery planned.
  • You take a diabetes medicine.
  • You take nadolol or atorvastatin.

Ask extra carefully if

  • You have liver disease or past liver problems.
  • You follow a low-sodium plan, because salt is the largest single ingredient.
  • You already take B6 from other products.
  • You take another eye formula with lutein or zeaxanthin.

Our medicines post goes deeper on the drug questions.

Is Zeaxan safe for your liver or kidneys?

The liver question comes from green tea extract. NCCIH ties green tea extract capsules to rare liver injury (NCCIH, 2025). In EFSA's review, liver markers rose at 800 mg of EGCG a day or more (EFSA, 2018). Zeaxan's extract tops out at 55 mg of a 50% material, far below that. A ceiling is not an amount, so this is a bound, not a promise.

Yellow skin or eyes, dark urine or severe belly pain call for medical care the same day, since they can point to liver trouble.

Kidneys are a different matter. The sources we use say nothing about Zeaxan and kidney health, so we make no statement. If you have kidney disease, show the full label to your doctor.

What should you do if something feels wrong?

  1. Stop the capsules

Put the bottle aside. A rash, bleeding or yellow skin is not something to push through.

  2. Write it down

Record the symptom, its start date and everything else you took that week.

  3. Call a professional

Use your doctor, a pharmacist or emergency care, depending on how bad it feels.

  4. Report it

Problems with a dietary supplement can be reported to the FDA through its safety reporting portal.

  5. Tell the order desk

Call with your order ID. If you want a refund, ask about the 60-day guarantee.

Hold on to the bottle. Its base carries the lot code and best-before date when shown, which help anyone who looks into a report.

What do the bottle seals say about safety?

The seals show an FDA-registered facility, good manufacturing practice and foreign and domestic ingredients. They describe the factory and the sourcing. They do not describe what a capsule does in your body, and they are not a safety test.

The registered-facility seal is not FDA approval. The GMP seal marks a baseline, and the bottle does not say who inspected the factory or when. For safety questions, the label caution and your doctor matter more than any seal.

Is Zeaxan gluten free, vegan or free of caffeine?

A brand panel says Gluten Free, with no certificate shown to us. The capsule shell is not named, so vegan status cannot be confirmed from the bottle. The label does not say whether the green tea extract carries caffeine.

If any of these matter for health reasons, call the order desk before you order and ask for written answers. Do not rely on a web page, including this one, for an allergy or a strict diet.

What are the label caution and guarantee facts?

The caution text is printed on the side of the bottle. The guarantee and price facts come from the seller's pack.

Frequently asked questions

Is Zeaxan safe?

It has no safety study of its own. Most side effects reported for its ingredients are mild, but medicines and some health states call for a doctor's advice first.

What are the side effects of Zeaxan?

No side-effect data for the finished capsule is published. Its ingredients are linked to stomach upset, headache and skin reactions, and rarely to liver injury with green tea extract capsules.

Can Zeaxan cause headaches?

Ginkgo is linked to headache in NCCIH's notes. How much ginkgo is in a serving is not published.

Does Zeaxan contain caffeine?

The label does not say. Caffeine can be present in green tea extract, and the amount depends on its preparation. Call the order desk if it matters to you.

Will extra capsules speed things up?

No. The label says not to exceed the dose, and more capsules also mean more ginkgo and green tea extract.

Can I take Zeaxan with my multivitamin?

Often, yes, but tally your vitamin B6 first. Adults should stay under 100 mg a day, and Zeaxan prints no B6 figure. A pharmacist can read both labels.

Our view

Our view is cautious but not alarmed. The ingredients are familiar, and the mild effects are the ones you would expect. The real risk sits with medicines and health states, not with a healthy adult who follows the label.

The weak spot is information. With no printed amounts, you cannot add up your B6 or check a ginkgo dose. If you take any daily medicine, bring the bottle to a pharmacist before the first capsule. That one step does more than any warning we can write.
